The generic version of Armodafinil is sold under the brand name Artvigil. People who suffer from narcolepsy, OSA, or shift work sleep disorder—conditions characterized by extreme drowsiness—can take the medicine armodafinil to help them stay awake. It is also sometimes used off-label for cognitive enhancement and to improve focus and concentration.

The typical recommended dose of Artvigil (Armodafinil) for most conditions is 150 mg taken once a day in the morning. Do not ever change the dosage of your prescription without first consulting your doctor. Armodafinil is believed to work by affecting certain substances in the brain that control sleep and wakefulness.
